A member on my site can't add his account to the site, this is his channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCegSHWabvS-tul1Iliq2zSQ

Well, he can add it but it won't let him sub as that looks like it's not even a channel name because when you add his channel to the site and click on the youtube link it simply doesn't find is channel.

Doesn't works because user have to add Youtube account username, not channel URL, for example, this youtube account: http://www.youtube.com/user/DJBughi
I have to add "DJBughi", not channel url.

Thats what I thought. The problem is that I can't find his channel name so that I can help him with the issue.

Is it correct that I told him to create a channel name first?

Yes, have to chose username for his / her account.
