Hello,
Not sure what forum software you are using, so I don't know how hard/easy this is. A common feature on most forums is a "New Posts" menu item or a "Spy" item.
New Posts would simply query the latest X amount of posts since login and display the thread titles. Spy is the same thing, but is usually an AJAX constant-refreshing script so you can leave the screen open and see new posts in the forum as they happen.
Either one of these would be useful features. I hope you see the value in them too.

I'll answer my own question. On the top right hand side of the menu bar I see "View New Content". That's exactly what I was looking for!
