Is not about the way it works, it can be done in many ways, is about the fact that if we will try to make this module again, we risk to get sued, to get the whole store closed, to pay damages and besides that, by legal actions they will ask for a list with customers who are using this system then will be your turn. Doesn't worth to risk that much, so we're not planing to add Facebook back, at least until will no longet be a problem for them.
