[REQ] Social Media Invite Plugin - Preston - 04-15-2013 Okay so I saw a post that got deleted due to a back up that had what I needed. I am pretty sure it was a facebook module that worked with the referral system. If you have anything that invites users from social sites using referral links could you please post it ![]() RE: [REQ] Social Media Invite Plugin - stevehead - 04-16-2013 Yes it was our post that had the details in Preston - we're a bit busy at the moment with another business launch but as soon as I get time I'll re-post. RE: [REQ] Social Media Invite Plugin - stevehead - 04-17-2013 Here's the method we used for adding a feature for members to invite friends from social networks + email + Yahoo/GMail/Hotmail address books with their referral link embedded. We started with the free email a friend widget from www.smartaddon.com and then tuned it to our needs. AS ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR PAGE FILE FIRST ![]() To start we need to pull the referral link info from the database by adding this to the top of the page you want the invite friends module in PHP Code: Hidden content for guests Then add this code where you want the feature PHP Code: Hidden content for guests Save and upload page and test. You will find that some networks don't display the whole URL - but the referral link IS embedded in the link. AS ALWAYS PES UPDATES MAY OVERWRITE ANY CUSTOM PAGE CHANGES SO KEEP A COPY OF THIS SCRIPT IN CASE YOU NEED TO REINSTALL IT I hope you find this useful - it took a lot of ![]() RE: [REQ] Social Media Invite Plugin - Preston - 04-17-2013 Thank you so much. I rep'ed/liked and will eventually "buy you that coffee". RE: [REQ] Social Media Invite Plugin - stevehead - 04-18-2013 Thanks - it's for my team not me, they do all the hard work! |
