Unfortunately your idea is not so with this script will be a very large load on this site unless on the crown once a day.

From what I see, this wouldn't have a HUGE impact on the servers usage if it checks the sql db like once every hour or something like that!

That feature was already requested few times and was rejected, because will send too many emails, your website will become spammy.
