Hideref is very fast, takes 1-2 second until is redirected to right page. But for example, if website X is very slow, is more than normal to takes some times until this website is loaded. With our without hideref, for website X is the same thing, will take the same time to be loaded. Hideref was added to increase quality of generated traffic. What is Hideref more exactly, is very easy, hideref is a free dereferer service. Traffic generated by this kind of systems have no value, but with Hideref is traffic source is hidden, that's make traffic generated more valuable. This is why hideref was added. Can be disabled anytime from admin panel, but is not recommended.

I guess I will leave the hideref thing enabled and will extend the surf time to 15 seconds...

I read previously that it was implemented for a good reason and that it shouldn't slow your browsing. On youtube likes, it takes like 5 or so seconds to load youtube pages. I find it faster to either click the link on the page or to just watch youtube videos for 15 seconds.
