Adding Pages / Links
#1
Making it easier....

For example Linkedin Shares, I have no idea which URL should go in there as a regular user. Couldn't we do something where it explains it where to find the URL when they do the drop down of each network. This will make things a bit easier for the user.

Ok lets go through the process from a user.

Step 1: Login
Step 2: Add page (addurl.php)
Step 3: Pick the social network. For example Linkedin
Step 4: Title (easy part), URL (which URL is it?)

There needs to be a difference between each drop down. Instead of having the user input a full url maybe partially and show an example of how they can find the url or id they need to put in for each network.

So example for youtube they would just put the youtube video url and the form would show...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[FORM FOR USER... user would input: 17ozSeGw-fY]

Hello,

We have simplified this part to "URL" for all modules, to be more easy. So, for example, for youtube views / likes, you have to add youtube video url, for facebook likes, you have to add facebook fanpage url or website url, for facebook subscribers, you have to add facebook profile url, etc

In this way, user don't stay to extract ID / Username from some URL's (many users don't know to do that), they just copy and paste an URL. If URL is wrong, will appear an message with an example.

I understand that part, but what about Linkedin shares, where does the user find the URL for that.

Hello,

Nothing hard for linkedin, you add URL of website you want to share, for example, you have to add http://mn-shop.net/ or http://forum.mn-shop.net

Is not an special link for this module.

To be fair I think a quick explaination for all would be good for users. Maybe we could copy and paste into out help pages.

Nick your not alone I thought for retweets you just put the message(in the title box) and the URL would be pasted for the message. I've not long twigged thats its the actual status link that needs posting.
